Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group: Mounded Tombs of Ancient Japan is a group of ancient tombs located in Sakai and Fujiidera cities in Osaka Prefecture that was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019. This heritage site consists of approximately 49 tombs constructed between the late 3rd and early 6th centuries, and is an important heritage site for understanding ancient Japanese culture and power structures. In particular, the site is characterized by its many huge tombs with a unique shape, the anterior posterior circular mound.

As a tourist destination, it is characterized by its historical value and unique landscape. The biggest attraction is the world's largest tomb, the Nintoku-tenno-ryo tumulus (Daisen tumulus), which is 486 meters long. The shape of the mound and the beauty of the surrounding moat are breathtaking and testify to the high level of craftsmanship of ancient Japan. Visitors can feel its grand scale and ancient majesty.

As a recommendation, the first thing to do is to visit the Mozu Tumulus Group, centering on the Nintoku-tenno Kofun Tumulus. The Sakai City Museum, located in Daisen Park, has exhibits on the history of the tumulus group and excavated artifacts, allowing visitors to deepen their knowledge of the tumulus. There is also an observatory from which visitors can view the Daisenryo tumulus and get a bird's eye view of the entire tumulus complex.

In addition, the Furuichi Tumulus Group is not to be missed. Located in Fujiidera City, this group of tumuli includes the Ojin-tenno-ryo tumulus (Eida Gobyozan tumulus) and many other forward-rear round burial mounds.
