There are more than 40 pagodas, each with its own unique history and culture, which is part of the temple's appeal.

The greatest appeal of Myoshin-ji Temple is its tranquil atmosphere and deep Zen spirit. Upon entering the temple grounds, one finds a peaceful and contemplative space, free from the hustle and bustle of the city. Visitors can calm their minds and face themselves, feeling the teachings of Zen. In particular, the beautiful karesansui (dry landscape garden) and garden designs that embody the teachings of Zen leave a deep impression on the viewer.

At Myoshinji Temple, several pagodas are open to the public, each with its own distinct charm. For example, Tatezoin Temple is known for its beautiful karesansui (dry landscape) garden, which offers seasonal views. The cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in summer, and beautiful autumn leaves in fall make each seasonal visit a pleasure. Keishoin Temple also houses important cultural assets such as the “Hogan Maitreya Bosatsu” statue, making it a must-see for those interested in history and art.

Myoshinji Temple also offers Zen experiences, allowing visitors to experience the spirit of Zen through programs such as Zen meditation and sutra copying. These experiences go beyond sightseeing to provide opportunities for deep reflection and a time of spiritual purification for visitors.

Myoshin-ji Temple is also very interesting for its historical background. Not only are many cultural assets preserved here, but the Zen teachings cultivated by successive generations of monks have been handed down from generation to generation.
