Sefa Utaki, located in Nanjo City, Okinawa Prefecture, is a sacred site from the time of the Kingdom of the Ryukyus and was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 2000. Sefa Utaki is considered the highest sacred site of the Ryukyu Kingdom, where successive kings and priests prayed.

The most significant feature of Sefa Utaki is its sacred atmosphere and environment surrounded by natural beauty. Located in a lush forest, Sefa Utaki offers visitors a sense of natural serenity and mystical atmosphere. In particular, "Sangu-i" where two huge rocks are nestled together, is the symbolic place of Sefa Utaki, and the sacred air flows in between the rocks. It is said that important ceremonies were held here during the Kingdom of the Ryukyus.

Sefa Utaki is also dotted with several prayer sites, each with a different history and legend. The main prayer sites include "Ufugui" and "Ichino Torii". These sites are still cherished by the locals as places where sacred ceremonies and prayers were held.
