Kawagoe area in Saitama Prefecture is called “Koedo,” a sightseeing area that retains the atmosphere of the Edo period. In particular, the traditional Japanese architectural style is beautifully preserved in the streets of warehouses, and visitors can enjoy the sensation of time-traveling back to the Edo period just by strolling through the streets.

The area is also full of sights such as the symbolic “Toki no Kane” (bell of time) and “Kashiya Yokocho” lined with confectionary stores. Visitors can also taste sweets and dishes made from sweet potatoes, a local delicacy.

Furthermore, the Kawagoe area is an attractive destination for foreign tourists, with its abundance of temples and shrines to visit and seasonal festivals that allow you to experience traditional Japanese culture to the fullest.
