About Kinchakuda

Kinchakuda, located in Hidaka City, Saitama Prefecture, is famous throughout Japan for its clusters of manjushage (cluster amaryllis), or higanbana (cluster amaryllis), and attracts visitors with its approximately 5 million manjushage in full bloom in the fall. The name “kinchoten” comes from the shape of the Koraigawa River (Koma-gawa) winding its way around the area, which resembles a drawstring sack. The vast flat land surrounded by the river is surrounded by beautiful nature, and the changing scenery can be enjoyed with each season, but is especially breathtaking in the fall when the manjushage (red spider lilies) are at their best.

The main attraction of Kinchakuda is the manjushage flower fields, where bright red flowers bloom en masse from mid-September to early October, creating a carpet-like spectacle. The vivid red color and the sight of the flowers blooming across the vast area are truly spectacular, attracting many tourists and photo enthusiasts. There is a walking trail that leads visitors through a field of manjushage flowers, allowing them to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the flowers from all angles. The sight of the manjushage soaked in morning dew shining in the morning sun or dyed by the setting sun is also fantastic, and the different looks of the flowers at different times of the day make it an attractive place to encounter new beauty no matter how many times you visit.

Kinchakuda can be enjoyed not only during the manjushage (red spider lily) season, but also in each of the four seasons. In spring, rape blossoms spread out, and in the season of fresh green, lush green grass and flowers and the flow of the river create a pleasant scene. In summer, many families come to enjoy playing in the river and barbecuing, and spend their time as they please on the wide riverbank. The river is clear and shallow, so even small children can play safely. In addition, the quiet scenery in winter makes it a place where those who wish to spend time in nature can enjoy a peaceful time.

There are also many historical attractions in and around the Kinchakuda area. The Koryo Shrine, in particular, is deeply connected to the history of the Koguryo people who once settled in the area, and is a good spot for those interested in the history and culture of the region. In addition, small cafes and eateries are scattered around the Kinjikida area, where visitors can enjoy dishes and sweets made from local specialties. Stopping by between nature walks and enjoying the local delicacies is one of the best parts of the trip.

Kinchakuda is a place where nature and people are in close contact, and its main attraction is its spacious grounds and open atmosphere. Aside from the vivid red color of the manjushage, the changing scenery throughout the four seasons and the rich natural environment provide healing and peace of mind to visitors. The area is also a popular tourist spot for families, couples, and solo travelers alike, as visitors can enjoy a wide variety of activities such as nature walks in the surrounding area, historical exploration, and river play.

Kinchakuda is a place where you can spend a pleasant time in harmony with the beauty of nature and the history of the region. It is the perfect place for those who want to feel a quiet and relaxing time with the breath of nature.
