Japan's largest anime and manga town

Along with Shinjuku and Shibuya, it is one of the three major subcenters of the Yamanote area, and has developed as a subculture town centering on anime and manga.

The city is also focused on culture and the arts, and eight theaters are located in the area. It also has the largest number of ramen stores in Tokyo.

Ikebukuro Station is a huge terminal station with four companies and eight train lines, and is the third busiest station in Japan in terms of passengers.
